1. Move over Subways, Listellos have arrived
Thinner and longer than a traditional subway tile, "Listellos" or border tiles, are making a big comeback. Typically sized 7.5 x 60 cm, these tiles are elegant and versatile in borders or in place of a traditional subway layout. A solution that heralds the creative use of grids and patterns, the decorative possibilities are endless.
2. Earthy colours are here to stay
Travertine is still trending and terracottas have been reimagined with a more handmade look and feel. A move towards more organically designed Terrazzos provides the grounding feeling of soft stone. These earthy environments highlight our craving for more balance, serenity and nature in our home spaces from the busy world around us.
3. New Textures and Surfaces
From tiles with distinctive three-dimensional surfaces to the unexpected visual perceptions of metal oxide (complete with patina ageing), there’s a lot to get excited about. The always evolving technology advances provide more dynamism to surfaces, interacting with environments to produce stunning light and shadow contrasts.
4. Checkmate!
Traditional checkerboard gets a reinvention with beautiful new colours, depth of texture and marble veining. Collections such as Territinta’s Magica series aim to modernise and add interest to a traditional style flooring. Take note.
5. Marble Heavy-weights
The Marble trend continues. Now we are celebrating her bold veining, rich colours and deep textures. In Ariostea's version of this, soft venetian plaster-like tiles are matched with bold marbles for the perfect combination of wow-factor with balance.
