Bathroom design has come a long way in the last decade, and your bathroom no longer has to feel like the boring part of your home. Colourful bathroom tiles are a great way to add flair and personality to your space. Whether you want to go for neutral tones or incorporate colourful bathroom tiles, here at Myaree Ceramics we have an extensive selection to choose from. Choosing the right tiles can really give your bathroom that revival it has been needing.
Ways to Change up Your Bathroom
Colour can often be something that people are scared to play with, but it can be incorporated in so many different ways, both subtle and bold. Choosing the right bathroom tiles can really transform your bathroom, and make it a real design feature of your home.
If you have a neutral bathroom, adding a feature area that consists of a bold colour is a fantastic choice to incorporate a new dimension to the space. The options are endless with patterns and designs. You can opt for different tiles on the floor and wall, go for complementary or contrasting colours, or play with texture. You can use a simple tile for most of your bathroom and then choose a bold tile for your shower or niche wall.
FEATURE WALLS
When choosing tiles for a feature wall, take into consideration the shape of your bathroom. Typically the best place for a feature wall is the wall of your shower head or the wall where your bath or vanity is placed. In smaller bathrooms, feature walls work best when placed inside niches or as feature splashback. When designing, ask yourself what would catch your eye when entering your space?
FEATURE FLOORING
No matter the size, feature flooring looks incredible against a white or neutral wall in a bathroom. Giving a bathroom a contemporary edge, a patterned floor tile creates an eye-catching feature especially when you don't have any walls that will work as a feature wall. If you're looking for a tile that has geometric patterns, Loft Sylvania is a great choice as it can be used in conjunction with neutral tiles and finishes. We suggest playing with different patterns against your cabinetry and other bathroom finishes and making a choice that's best for your space.
SHOWER NICHES AND LEDGES
Shower niches have quickly become a popular addition to bathrooms as they are a stylish way of neatly storing your shower and bath items. Although you can match the tiles you are using for the rest of the shower to make this space discreet, adding a contrasting tile into the niche brightens the small area and makes it the focal point. A built-in-ledge works well for a larger shower as it provides ample space for bottles and decor. Keeping the wall a simple shade and accenting the ledge with a coloured bathroom tile such as our order in item, Country Vision, creates a stunning impact.
Don’t be Afraid to Add Colour
Choosing bold tiles can seem overwhelming, as you may be worried the selected colour may become outdated. If you want to introduce colour to a space you could start with subtle tones and pops of colour within your decor choices. Bringing colour into the space adds personality and warmth.
Some of our suggestions include the Alchimia Olive tile which brings a clean, calm and rustic look when paired with wood toned cabinetry and porcelain white countertops. The Fan Verdi Cristallo is another gorgeous green option, with beautiful tonal variation throughout each fan piece. This tile works best when paired with warm wood tones and feature black tapware. Adding indoor plants can also brighten an area and create a mini little oasis.
