Utica Limestone is a refined, architectural-grade limestone quarried in Turkey, prized for its subtle sophistication and versatile neutral palette. With a base tone of cool beige to light taupe, Utica Limestone features a soft, uniform surface occasionally accented by delicate fossil markings, mineral speckling, or gentle layering — offering a serene and organic aesthetic suitable for a wide range of interior and exterior applications.

Composed primarily of calcium carbonate, this dense, fine-grained limestone is known for its structural integrity and ease of finishing, often available in honed or brushed textures. Its soft, matte surface and consistent colouring make it a favourite among architects and designers for both modern minimalism and understated classical styles.

Utica Limestone is well suited for flooring, wall cladding, staircases, bathrooms, and fireplace surrounds, and can be used externally in appropriate conditions. Its neutral tone pairs beautifully with natural timber, concrete, and both light and dark stones, making it an excellent choice for layered material palettes.

This is considered normal:

• Fossil inclusions or shell traces: Common in limestone and celebrated for their organic appeal.
• Subtle tonal variation across slabs or tiles: Expected and contributes to its natural depth.
• Surface micro-pitting or soft texture shifts: Acceptable and inherent to the stone’s authenticity.

Please note: We recommend you obtain professional sealing advice. This tile must be sealed prior to grouting. As with all limestones, Utica should be sealed to protect against moisture and staining, especially in wet or high-traffic areas. With proper care, its quiet elegance will endure for many years.
