What are the Key Differences?
While a matt tile has a soft non-reflective surface, a gloss tile is shiny and highly reflective. Where in your house you are using the tile can determine what finish you use. You may want to consider what the space is used for, who will be using it and how it will withstand the activities you are using it for. A gloss finish can often work better in small spaces as the surface reflects light, giving the illusion of a larger area. Matt Tiles

WHAT ARE THE IDEAL SPACES IN THE HOME FOR MATT VS GLOSS TILES?
Matt finishes can be both used for all sized spaces, but are most effective when used over large rooms. Some areas include bathrooms, bathroom floors, pool areas, and backyard patios. These areas see a lot of foot traffic and you want to make sure that when wet they provide traction and don’t become a slip hazard. Matt tiles are also ideal for holiday homes as it is easily cleaned, making it a quick-clean up job after guests leave.
Gloss finishes are often used on bathroom walls, kitchen splashbacks, living room floors and laundries.
