At Myaree Ceramics, we’re constantly looking for new and improved ways to make sure our entire product range meets our strict quality standards. The easiest and most efficient way for us to do this is to keep up-to-date with the latest advancements in tile technology.
Most of the tiles on display in our Perth-based showroom are imported directly from Italy. Since our inception in 1985, we have worked hard to build strong, long-lasting relationships with some of Italy’s finest and most reputable tile manufacturers. To keep up with demand, they have invested in machinery that allows them to produce more tiles in half the time.
Advancements in technology have progressed to the point where man-made tiles can replicate the look of natural tiles so well it’s almost impossible to tell the difference. In the past, tiles that were designed to replicate the look of natural finishes, like travertine, didn’t have any pattern variations. This meant that if you were to compare a natural tile to a man-made one, you would easily be able to identify which was which. Natural stone products are all unique, as each individual tile has variations in its pattern, whereas traditionally, the patterns on manufactured styles were identical. Now, thanks to improvements in printing technology, this is no longer an issue. Taking advantage of beautiful timber and stone look finishes is now easier than ever, as you can take advantage of the hard-wearing nature of manufactured tiles, while enjoying the beauty of natural products.
Increased production and availability of large-format, slim-profile tiles can also be attributed to advancements in technology. Slim 6-8mm thick tiles (that would usually be 10-12mm thick) can now be made just as strong as standard-profile tiles. They’re also lighter, easier to lay, and cheaper to ship and store than their thicker counterparts. Many of the factories that produce our high-end selection of quality glass, mosaic, and stone tiles from are becoming so advanced; they’re almost entirely automated!
However, despite the latest technological innovations, there will always be a demand for handmade, artisanal products. If you’re after handcrafted tiles with a distinct European charm, you can rest assured the old fashioned way of doing things hasn’t been completely eliminated. With a clear divide between robot-made and artisanal, homemade products, you won’t be limited to just one type of manufacturing. We will always make sure we’re bringing our Perth clients the best range of quality tiles, and we understand that maintaining traditional production processes is part of this service, so whether you’re after the latest manufactured tile solutions, or beautiful, handcrafted designs, we’ve got you covered!
