Mutina Dechirer Decor Hexagon 1200×1200
14 Ora Italian Uon Uon Black Positive
Blurring the lines between inside and out, the inspiration for the design of the Mary Davies Library in Baldivis was drawn from the history and geography of the place, and named for an active and important member of the community, Mary Davies.
The interiors and exteriors are clad in Mutina’s Dechirer Decor Hexagons – designed by Patricia Urquiola for Mutina, the Dechirer collection features barely-perceptible textural designs, and the 1200×1200 hexagons special-ordered for this project are an ultra large slab size originally produced for commercial use.
Dechirer is a highly innovative collection, not only for the patterns and textures, but also for the production system. Thanks to the CONTINUA technology, large slabs of the latest generation unglazed homogeneous porcelain stoneware are produced. Press-finished with 12 mm thickness, the tiles are perfectly rectified, single-work size and modular.
The colours and decorations, based on rich and pleasing ceramic effects, are simply obtained by the distribution of quality porcelain stoneware mixtures. The technical features are far superior to the limits required by international standards.
