Tiles can be mixed and matched (or not) more than you might think.
If you have an idea to mix colour and texture, good! It works, often. Success stories abound at Myaree Ceramics of clients who have created a unique look that reflects their own style.
Our design team
Myaree Ceramics has an interior design service that allows customers to come in and bounce their ideas off an experienced and qualified designer. You might decide to tweak their ideas a little and that’s your prerogative. Our design team are highly trained in the application of tiles and their myriad of uses in the home, so as you embark on your tiling journey, call us or call in to our showroom!
Tone and texture together
These days, you have numerous choices of tile – for both practicality and look. It’s not just a gloss or matte finish any more, although a truly striking effect can be achieved when matte wall tiles meet up with gloss floor tiles.
If you’re trying to achieve a tonal effect in your bathroom, pick one colour and then, work with shades of that colour on different surfaces. Then to create interest or a feature in a tonal look, you can play with the finish. Not just gloss or matte but also textures: waves, floral imprints, tiles that look like paper that has been folded and unfolded, waves, etc.
For an alternate but equally amazing visual effect, instead of running tiles all in one direction, try mixing them up horizontally and vertically. Herringbone pattern comes to mind but Myaree Ceramics has an abundance of inspiring ideas for you.
Light it up!
Continuous-strip wall lighting can enhance the overall effect as it highlights the tile’s surface.
The same can be said in planning for a textured tile wall that is close to natural light – as the sun moves across the sky, your tiles’ textures cast varied shadows throughout the day.
The seamless look
Don’t be afraid to use the same tile style on a wall and floor. When the right tile is chosen, the effect is a seamless, ultra-stylised look. Hotels opt for this a lot, and as the hotel finish is so ‘in’ thanks to TV renovation shows, it means many private renovator/builders are too!
The same tile colour is often available in different finishes and sizes too – so with the help of our designers, you can play with the different combinations to achieve subtle but effective design solutions.
It sounds exciting, doesn’t it? Our extensive range of tiles – from mosaic, to glass, to glazed porcelain will have you stopping to adore your decision for years to come!
Call Myaree Ceramics today to discuss all your tile and texture needs.
